I want to try VMWare Fusion 6's trail but the trial installer demands my email address with an overzealous statement like "Enter a valid email address to begin your complimentary 30-day trial. You agree to receive promotional emails from VMware related to VMware Fusion".
Actually, no, I do not agree. Glad you asked me before assuming so.
I'm only interested in evaluating Fusion 6 before buying it - not sure why other random terms (like getting spam) have been thrown into the mix at the last minute.
The way I see it, I'm doing VMware a favor by installing their trail and spending a few hours (of my time) going through it. Then I proceed to pay them the licensing fee, where the favor is converted into a commercial transaction. My other option is to continue on Parallels, which I presume isn't in VMWare's best interest.
So, the question, is there a way to run the Fusion 6 trail without consenting to spam?
If not, can someone on the VMware team inform the product manager that perhaps it's better to try and sell a license than get distracted and instead attempt to grab my email address? I know I might be able to unsubscribe, but I shouldn't have to deal with the headache to begin with (i.e. flip the default).
