Updating an existing layer - "layer ID# already exists"

I updated one of my app layers, and chose to select "Update an existing layer" and selected "a minor version". Then I realized that I missed one app that needed to be updated, so I deleted that "version 1.1", went back to the base snapshot, did the pre-scan, updated all of the apps that needed updating (3 out of 9) this time, then when going to finalize the app layer capture, I select "Update an existing layer", select the layer ID:18, select "a minor version (1.1), get "no compatibility issues", click Next, then Finish, and get Failed to capture app layer "Layer '18' already exists. Is the deleted one that I made incorrectly still floating around out there somewhere and it thinks it's still out there? I can't see anywhere to restore the deleted app layer. Thank you for your help.

Update: Being impatient, I selected "major version 2.0" which it really isn't since it's only updating 3 or 9 apps, but it successfully is finalizing the recording. Could someone tell me what the difference is to Mirage between selecting a minor or a major version, besides the obvious numbering sequence? Is there an important significance that I need to be mindful of, or a significance as to how the updated app layer will be pushed out? Thank you.
