Hi,
I will explain you how vSphere Replication is working.
The idea of VR is to protect your vms and configure them replicate to a different site(to be able to recover in case of disaster on source vms). When you perform recovery of protected vm you have two options -
1 -sync false - meaning the vm will be recovered with data from the last automatic sync performed(depending or RPO configured);
2 - sync true - meaning a synchronization will be performed with the source vm prior recovery(source vm must be powered off in this case).
I assume you want to choose sync false having in mind you want to perform additional operations on the source vm. If your source vm is using static ip recovered one will have that same ip but its nic will be disconnected from the network. So if you connect it to the same networks as the source a collision will happen. If source vm is using DHCP you won't have problems connecting recovered one to the same network.
Have in mind that all changes performed on the source vm after recovery won't apply on the recovered one.
I hope this answers your question regarding vSphere Replication.
Regards,
Bobi
