Can I Do Seeding with ABR?

We are setting up SRM (5.1) protection between two sites that will be configured with ABR (array-based replication).

There is a sizeable amount of data to replicate and I suspect the initial copies will take a LONG time over the WAN via ABR.

I have used seeding before in setting up SRM with vSphere Replication, and it worked well.

So my question is, can I seed initial copies of the VMs when using ABR?

If not, would it be possible to perform the initial copy via seeding, synchronize using vSphere Replication and then change over to ABR?
