Thanks for the reply. Yes there is an independent disk option, but

1.An independent disk can not be added to multiple machines at a time. I have used vCloud API to create/edit/Delete independent disk. Also i have added to a machine in cloud, by the time i'm trying to add it to another machine it throws an error saying it can not be accomplished as it is already attached.

2. The only advantage when compared to other disks used by a machine in cloud looks to be, it can be detached from a machine and added to another without loosing data -- which is like re-using of it.

please do correct if there are any misconceptions in perspective of independent disk or its concepts.
