2d stab. Please help me if you can:
I provide a service to clients which are not local to me and need to connect to their computer remotely. I currently use Teamviewer. I then install the software I need to do my work.
They typically have a windows machine which is connected to their car. The cable used is OBD II <-> Ethernet.
So while they are connected to the car, the only way for me to connect to their laptop is over WiFi at the same time. To perform my service I need both the remote desktop connection (over WiFi) and the connection to the car over ethernet.
I was told VMWare Workstation can help me do this and I don't have to use Teamviewer or anything else.
Don't know whether this is true.
Beyond Workstation, I would much prefer not having to install the software on their machine and simply use it on mine while connected to them. Is it possible to connect to a remote computer and make use of its Ethernet port over the internet?
